Journals!

You've all probably seen lots of YouTube videos, maybe on facebook or other social media showing people how to make all different kinds of journals at home.

There really are hundreds of videos and personally, I don't have the patience to sit watching long-winded video's. If it's not done within 6-7 minutes I skip it, or if it does look really good on the thumbnail I'll keep skipping through until the end and hope I can figure the majority of it out myself. Now, my darling precious daughter asked for a book called Wreck This Journal for Christmas (last year). I thought it was a bit weird and pointless to ruin a book but apparently, it's really popular with teens.

I always kept a diary when I was a kid, but my little are don't really seem interested in them. So I thought about maybe if we make our own it might interest them a bit more.

There are lots of different types and I've linked them all on here, Although for some reason I can't hyperlink and so you might have to select, copy and paste. I've tried to give you the links of video's under 7 mins, but there are lots of longer tutorials on YouTube and ideas on Pinterest. Bullet Journals...

Although there is a video in there showing you how to make really good photography journals by using a tiny photo printer. I wouldn't go out and spend lots of money on making a journal and if you can, follow the other tutorial you'll be able to print out the small photo by adjusting a few settings on your computer (it's step by step, which is really handy for stress heads like me). Scramble around the house for things to use or start keeping bits and pieces that you could use in your journal for later on. The ribbon around birthday cakes, 3D greetings cards, packaging (translucent chocolate wrappers or sweetie logo wrappers, and scrap fabrics.

I hope you all have fun with the kids (or just for yourself) making a journal. You can also experiment with fabric journals for fashion interests, hand made paper journals for the environmentalists, lavishly decorated journals if you love some glitz and glam, and pressed flower decorated journals for the green-fingered peeps out there.

I've seen a video I'm going to go back and watch which is a Bohemian Inspired journal. It's a bit lengthy though, so there will be a lot of skipping through!

Enjoy! xx
