Home Ed Topics

Going through my blog i've noticed that i've quite easily slipped off topic of this being about home education. So this blog post is going to be about Home Ed Topics to do. If like me you enjoy using topics to learn rather than curriculum here are some ideas you could try out. You can stretch it out for as long or little as you like and may inspire the kids to branch out too. Look below for my bullet point ideas. *Space. Learn the order of planets, facts, make pictures/collages, make rockets, learn how stars are born and about our galaxy. *All about me. Self protraits, write a letter to your future self, facts about yourself, write about your family and what you like to do. *Nature. Learn about our rainforests, endangered spieces, photosynthesis, the water cycle, pollution and saving the planet, sew seeds, make bird feeders. *Art. Learn about different styles of painting (abstract, impressionism, realism etc) try out the styles, make your own art, try different mediums of creating art (sculpture, charcoal, printing etc). *Language, communication, and information. Learn about not just how we communicate by talking but by other means like braille, sign language, morse code. Ancient recorded information like cave drawings, heiroglyphics. Information that is sent without using letters like bar codes and QR.

There's a few there for you to browes through. I won't over do it for the moment. But you can also encourage the kids to choose their own topics and create a whole project around it. Bye for now. :)
