Deck the house with Home Ed Jolly

Since last month we have been concentrating our mornings with making Christmas decors for the tree and around the house. I suggested to the kids that this year we just have a tree with decors we make ourselves. To begin with I dont think they were too impressed with the idea but once we started they were quite proud of what they made each time. For the tree, the first thing we made were wooley pompom hats, then went on to make decorated baubles, glittery pine cones, lolly stick reindeers and snow flakes, and some light up nose snowmen. Our tree isn't very big and so we didn't need to make loooooooads of things. Plus i joined in with them and so it added an extra tree decor each time. For around the house the kids made Christmassy glass stained lanterns, a glittery clothes peg snow flake, some Christmas pictures, and last of all, what we started and finished today, was our large paper chain Christmas tree. The kids are really pleased with themselves and I think they've done a great job. Our youngest, Ollie, doesn't like getting messy with paint and glue and so he did really well and always joined it, even when I thought he really wouldn't want to. We only have 9 days left until we finish for Christmas holidays. So all we'll be doing now is finishing off our topic (which is Inventors), some online work, and doing some fun Christmas colouring and puzzles right at the end. What have you been doing in your home over the Christmas season? Do you make your own decors or get the kids to decorate the tree? (and then neaten up the tree once they've gone to bed, hahaha). Bye for now. x
